She first joined saya in 2015, where she fell in love with teaching middle school youth, leading robotics, and young women's leadership programming She has a background in journalism and publishing, with a degree in women's studies and journalism from cuny queens college. Over the course of our history, saya has broken down the “model minority” myth, and paved the way for greater attention and investments in social services for the south asian population. Saya seeks panelists from a diverse group of industry leaders for our annual career exploration day to expose high school youth to a variety of professional paths and origin stories.
Young people also learn valuable skills such as personal finance and negotiation, to help them continue to grow their independence throughout their time at saya, in college, and beyond.
