This is despite being a member of pmg for some time now and paying the fee 😏 i'm now ready to take the plunge and send in my finest banknotes for grading However, i'm facing a dilemma while filling. I have a question regarding pmg grading I know this is pcgs but thought there might be some insight on the subject I have a 1896 $1 educational that i purchased raw a few years ago and sent it into pmg for grading It graded as a choice fine 15, however, it did not receive a epq notation
My question is, can a note be in choice condition, yet not have epq For authentication, particularly signatures, i think there is some value to their work, but few collectors would ever submit a stock or bond just for a grade. I just noticed that the grading turnaround time at pmg has been cut in half for most categories Only 15 working days for bulk modern and 41 working days for bulk vintage I expected it to be longer than before with new customers going their way Did they hire former pcgs graders?
Pmg grading conundrum us and world currency reply collector194 posts charboy collector194posts charboy Pmg typically sends three emails when they ship Grading report, invoice and shipping details Oddly this time i did not receive the 3 emails at grading completion and we went hiking for the day If i know a package is coming i will wait and do not go out until it arrives. If i understand pmg's grading standards and guaranty correctly, this would be reholdered as 66 epq.
Pmg uses the designation exceptional paper quality (epq) for notes that, in the opinion of pmg graders, are original By original, we mean that a note has not been physically, chemically, or materially processed to lend the appearance of a higher grade. Also, i'm wondering why there doesn't seem to be a way for the pmg photos on file to be linked to the registry All the other info (fr Number, year, grade, etc.) is linked Do i really need to scan 100+ notes when pmg already has images from the time of grading?
