Having moved up to newcastle after meeting my partner i would say it’s the sense of pride in their community It feels like geordies actually care about local businesses, produce & have that open door policy where neighbours say hello etc Having grown up in the south east and living in london in my early twenties i can honestly say i have fallen in love with newcastle because of geordies. A geordie is in its original meaning someone from the coal mining areas around newcastle (ironically it originally seems to have been an insult people from newcastle used for countryside people).
