Hi gary, welcome to this forum Technically your clock is not a flipclock, but i understand why you would pose your question here I have little experience with clocks like these, i do repair clocks for other people, but mostly vintage clocks, from the 60s and 70s I repaired a habitat clock once, but that was a simple fix I think most people here who are regulars have very little experience. This typ and the facelifted follower the digitale 201 were well sold flipclock radios in germany the radio is running quite well I mainly have to replace the speaker because of a damaged and ruptured membrane I have acquired a flip clock which might be in working order, but i'm not sure It does flip over every minute so that works, but the manual flipping is While googling i learned these clocks use a copal motor with a 12 teeth gear on the motor On both clocks, i have sank them in alcohol various times and even used wd40 (which i know isn't really recommended anymore) to try and see if i could free them up.
However, the clock wont turn when has batteries, and gets stuck often when flipping through it. I was gifted one of these units today and i'm looking for all the information i can to restore it Imagine my surprise when i found a fan page and even more so, the service manual! Even the unit is functional, (except for the flipclock) i hope i can find the necessary knowledge on this website to restore it I have a theory, as i don't own a tuning fork clock it is only a theory on what might be going on here Your report back seems to indicate to me that the fault presents once the motor is paired with the readout mechanism.
