Within 180 days of the close of each fiscal year, the oregon department of administrative services shall prepare a financial report for the state of oregon. The annual comprehensive financial report (acfr) is the state's audited financial statements, prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles applicable to state and local governments. Since the focus of accounting in a governmental unit is the individual fund, the financial statements to be presented in the municipal corporation’s annual report must also include nonmajor fund combining statements and individual fund statements/schedules. The statewide accounting and reporting services (sars) unit provides leadership in accounting and in the reporting of the financial results for the state of oregon.
