New topic reply to topic printer friendly author I was a pupil at tredegar county school in the thirties I remember the honours board containing the names of the 'old boys' who had died in the great war It was housed in the hall where we had our assembly every morning Every year on armistice day we had a special service when the names were read out in alphabetical order. What a pleasure it was to walk into the precinct this morning on a very rainy and miserable day to see the beautiful and colourful well looked after arrangements of flower beds and hanging baskets
The last two pages of his book sets out the sources from which he obtained his research and this was all done the hard way,including much study and travelling to and from record offices and museums etc, long before the advent of personal computers.
