If you are in a large city, chances are that they most likely will report to carfax, but more rural or more unscrupulous shops will not report to carfax. On my son's first car we bought for him (05 impala), the carfax said the head gasket was replaced at a local shop along with a ton of other work Called the shop in question, they laughed about the head gasket saying absolutely they didn't replace it, but just the intake manifold gasket which is pretty common Huge difference between the two. Car reports are unnecessarily expensive Is there any website that is absolutely free for car reports
Spending $45 for a car fax report is absolutely outrageous New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Now i see the listing of my former car, as i was curious how much they were gonna ask and they have claim clean carfax, i looked it up and indeed it was clean it has everything accurate like serviced and dates but no accident at all Interesting part is that the car was fixed in the same place that it was serviced and they have a service record that was after the accident. Service is not always reported, i bought a cpo car from the original dealer that sold it and did the service but none of it was in the carfax The dealer did have all of the service reports but for some reason it was just never put in to carfax
Car looks great, low mileage, and a decent price tag Looked at the car fax, and noticed it had minor damage to the right rear Given it looks immaculate in the pictures, anything i should look for under the car I will take it to my trusted mechanic before purchasing, but curious if there is anything obvious to look for. How did pulling a carfax get so expensive It used to be affordable

However, as i do title searches and whatnot, there's no salvage title on it. Why would a vehicle have multiple serviced entries at multiple dealerships within a very short time?
