I saw non sex offenders get beat up because they owed people, lacked respect or were hot heads. I am a convicted sex offender who spent 7+ years in state & private prison, did treatment, finished parole There’s always a chance someone might show up on your doorstep thinking they are doing god’s will by ridding the planet of offenders They also might harass your spouse or kids Traveling is a pain because every state has their own set of inane laws which typically result in a new felony conviction and possibly jail time. Wa state has been (sometimes exclusively, depends on your county) allowing registration by certified mail because of covid, so that has been an absolute breeze
