I am pleased to present this third edition of the esm summary report on environmental, social, and governance (esg) activities Over the past year, the landscape of esg investing has experienced increased scrutiny and changing priorities. Key findings on the 2023 state of corporate esg include Companies are struggling to keep abreast of the multitude of esg guidance and regulations, with the risk and compliance tasks of meeting regulations across geographies particularly stretched Stimated us$12 trillion in aum (up 38% from 2016) investing in esg strategies The principles for responsible investment (pri), the largest global network of institution 1i use “esg,” “responsible investing,” and “sustainable investing” interchangeably throughout this survey.
We study the effect of environmental, social and governance (esg) scores on the portfolio allocations of institutional investors Using a unique data set, we find that institutional investor holdings (as measured by 13f filings) are strongly driven by the esg quality of companies. This study investigates the relationship between esg reporting and corporate financial performance, exploring how sustainability practices influence profitability, risk management, and investor behaviour. We examine the effect of multiple environmental, social, and governance (esg) scores on institutional investor ownership of firms and investor portfolio weightings. Esg regulations across the middle east, north africa and türkiye are at a comparatively early stage in development, however activity is picking up pace with regulators issuing esg reporting guidelines. Despite the sharp change in the financial landscape over the past year and an increasingly challenging macroeconomic climate, investment focused on environmental, social and governance (esg) factors is set to grow.
