Maggie also works as a clinical consultant with the massachusetts league of community health center’s farmworker health program and collaborates with partners in health in chiapas, mexico and guatemala She conducts forensic asylum evaluations with harvard medical school’s asylum network and is an asylum network faculty member. Her research and clinical work has focused on dementia care and family caregiving, and she has expertise in programatic development and evaluation. Gates comes to the carr center from the edmond & lily safra center for ethics at harvard university, where she worked as the assistant director of communications and development and led the execution of the center’s communications strategy and fundraising initiatives.
Maggie holds a joint b.a In engineering and computer science, from harvard university At harvard, she was a member of multiple research groups and played on the women’s varsity soccer team. Maggie graduated with a doctor of public health (drph) degree from the harvard t.h Chan school of public health where she received the albert schweitzer award for public service in 2020 Her dissertation research focused on improvement of healthcare delivery to immigrants at community health centers in massachusetts.
