There are as many specialties in librarianship as there are librarians—but nyla's members have coalesced into nine sections that represent the major aspects of libraries and the people who serve them. Nyla is the voice of the library community advocating at the state and local level on behalf of libraries with the governor and state legislature, the new york state board of regents, and local governments that provide funding to libraries and library systems.
