Momoland (korean:모모랜드) is a south korean girl group formed by mld entertainment (formerly known as duble kick company) through the 2016 reality show finding momoland The show's winners hyebin, yeonwoo, jane, nayun, jooe, ahin, and nancy served as the original members Their debut mini album welcome to momoland was released on november 10, 2016. Daisy was caught on a date w song yunhyeong (of ikon) and was put on hiatus, that we now know was her being fired from momoland, but kept on retainer / in her contract despite the company having no plans to return her to the group or give her any more jobs/activities When she requested to terminate, mld asked her for nearly $1m usd in penalty fees to end the contract early (once again. This is one of the cases of having a weak fanbase with a huge general public recognition that doesn't last in the long.
Why i think this is unpopular I generally see a lot of people call baam as inferior to bboom bboom due to all the similarities in the song's sound and structure I personally believe baam was honestly an improvement over bboom bboom Yes, it may not have been as successful but it certainly was far from a bad song For starters, i feel their vocals shone more in this song than in bboom bboom. Ive stanned momoland pretty much since debut since i watched finding momoland and if you arent aware they debuted as 7 members, daisy and taeha were added later I do think they fit in well with the other girls but i dont think they added that much Taeha was a vocal and daisy a rapper but momoland already had jane as a strong vocalist and jooe as a pretty good rapper Nancy is still very popular in the phillipines, as she was the standout visual center for the group and momoland really blew up there She has some relevancy in korea still by being one of the three faces of momoland (alongside jooe and yeonwoo) but the group hasn't been popular with the general public in a long time.
